Illovo Sugar Kigali (ISK), established in 2019, operates from our warehousing and packing facility in DP World, Maska, in Kigali. ISK imports, packs and sells sugar products in Rwanda, offering our customers and consumers in Rwanda a local, quality sugar supplier.

ISK is a company within the Illovo Sugar Africa group. Illovo Sugar is Africa’s largest cane sugar producer, with manufacturing operations across 6 Southern-African countries. Illovo has been supplying sugar to the Rwandan market for over 25 years. Our sugar is predominantly sourced from Illovo operations in Zambia and Malawi and imported into Rwanda in 50kg brown bags. The sugar in these brown bags has been a favorite among Rwandan consumers for many years. In November 2022, Illovo Sugar Kigali officially opened our new, state-of-the-art packing station within our warehouse at DP World, enabling us to pack our own 1kg packs on-site. Illovo Sugar Kigali is also investing in servicing our customers and growing our brand among consumers. ISK is the first sugar producer in Rwanda to offer pre-packed sugar fortified with Vitamin A. This is a unique benefit to Rwandan consumers as Vitamin A offers many health benefits and is currently a deficiency for many consumers. Vitamin A is important for healthy skin, bones, eyes, and blood. Illovo Sugar Kigali is very proud to offer Rwandans the first pre-packed 1kg sugar offering consumers a safe, hygienic, and branded solution.
