Ingredients:
- All-purpose flour (3 full tablespoons)
- Yeast (Pakimaya) (½ tablespoon)
- Chapa mandazi (1 tablespoon)
- Illovo sugar (1 tablespoon)
- Margarine (Blue band) (1 tablespoon)
- Milk
- Water
- Salt (1 teaspoon)
- Cooking oil
Instructions:
How to make a dough:
- Prepare a clean bowl and put in flour mix it with ½ tablespoon of yeast,1 tablespoon Illovo sugar,1 tablespoon of margarine and one table spoon of chapa mandazi
- Grater lemon shells, put one tablespoon of the grater in the bowl with the other ingredients
- Pour in 1 cup of water and 1 teaspoon of salt and start kneading into a dough for 8-10 minutes
- Once the dough has risen, knock it back and knead it lightly on a floured surface.
- Transfer your dough to an oiled tray/board/plates and cover with a piece of lightly oiled clingfilm. Leave in a draught-free place for about 1 hour until the donuts have doubled in size.
How to cook the bread:
- Heat oven to 220C/fan 200C/gas 7.
- Bake for 25-30 mins until golden brown and the loaf sounds hollow when tapped underneath. Cool on a wire rack.
